It was just always there — from childhood on. Creating and sewing is a passion, hard to explain.
2. How long have you had your business?
KREANDO has existed for 5 years. I've been leading the company since then. Luckily, I can rely on a fantastic team of professionals — from purchasing to graphic design, customer service to shipping. We all share a passion and heart for KREANDO — and for all DIY lovers. It’s amazing!
3. How important is personal contact with customers to you?
Very important — for us, that happens by phone or on social media.
4. What can sewistas expect from your shop?
Fabrics, fabrics, and more fabrics — preferably beautiful, high-quality, sustainable, trendy, and comfortable. Plus matching sewing patterns, notions, and accessories.
5. Where do you get inspiration for new fabrics and patterns?
At trade fairs, in supplier showrooms, and while traveling through European cities.
6. Are there nice sewista hotspots near your shop?
Our customers shop online, so our location isn’t key. But our hometown Biel/Bienne by the lake, with a charming old town, is definitely worth a visit.
7. What was the first pattern you ever sewed?
A doll dress pattern drawn by my mother — I was about 10 years old.
8. Do you notice a revival of handmade fashion?
Absolutely — we love it! Our customers are becoming more and more professional. It’s wonderful!
9. Do you have many young sewistas among your customers?
Yes. Many young creative people are taking on huge responsibility. They fall in love with fashion and bring their children along. Often, their kids also discover sewing and become wonderful creative partners.
10. What is your ultimate dream?
My dream is that everyone in Switzerland who needs help with their creative hobby or job finds it with us — in the form of perfect fabrics, great instructions, and expert advice.
